This experiment is super cool I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
You need
Plastic cups #5
Food colouring #3 different colours
Water
Paper towels #4
Science behind it all
The water is attracted to the water molecules inside of it.
Also the surface of solid creates surface tension.
Steps
- First turn your paper towels into rectangle shapes.
- Next pour some water about 3 cm up your cups but leave 2 empty.
- Now add one drop of colour into the ones with water.Repeat it three times.
- You line your cups up ,Plop your paper towels into the cups it should look like this...(make sure that heir an upside down V shape)
Question:
Why does they water on the tissues go all the way to the top?
Answer:
Because the water is attracted to the water molecules inside of it.
Hypothesis:
I think that the water thats in one of the cups will run through the other cups and end up in the one without the water.
Observed:
I saw the water on one tissue run through to the next and end up in the empty one and it will mix together.
