Beware some words may be gruesome for some.
This is the story of a boy named Todd who went to WW2 at the age of 17. He pretended that he was 27 years old to be allowed to go to war.
Today is the day that Todd will be signing up to fight for his country in the second world war. He will be fighting 29 nations and millions of people. Military camp starts in 7 days. Todd is nervous but excited at the same time.
7 Days later
“Goodbye mum.” Says Todd as he jumps into the green camo bus shoving his bags into the back.
YAY, Todd made it through military camp now he is ready for WAR.
At the battlefield…
Todd made friends with a guy called LaBob’ who is a French immigrant who came to NZ to fight with them. In Egypt there were trenches surrounding like borders and probably underground bunkers somewhere in the middle. Todd can feel the excitement of the other soldiers around him, this is gonna be a good fight. 20 days into the fight the Egyptians bring out the big guns. Huge machine guns fire 10 bullets every 10 seconds while the New Zealanders stick with shotguns and grenades and rifles, pumps and pistols. The New Zealanders now realize that every 10 seconds the Egyptian guns reload. They use that to their advantage. When no bullets came shooting they charged and killed a lot of men, but then the NZ fighters went separate ways. LaBob’ and Todd went together through the pyramid's bright doors. Where there were two guards, one middle aged man and a boy about the same age as Todd. The middle aged man was loading his rifle but before he could shoot LaBob’ shot him in the middle of his forehead. BAM he is dead. LaBob’ reloads his gun and Todd talks to LaBob’ “ No don’t shoot he is the same age as us let him go.” The boy runs away and looks back with a thank you face. LaBob’ and Todd didn’t notice the other guard and the guard noticed them. The guard aims at LaBob’’s chest and shoots, Todd hears the BANG and shoots his gun at the guard. Todd turns to make sure that LaBob’ is alright when Todd sees the blood gushing out of LaBob’’s chest Todd is shocked. Todd pushes the walkie talkie sound button and says in a whisper LaBob’ has gotten shot, we are in the pyramid, we need an paramedic.
