Maths Test 2
My previous goal was to get faster - about seven minutes. The time I got this time was 6.35 minutes. Last time my accuracy was 100/100 this time I got 98/100. But my time was quicker so that was what I wanted.
I think blooket is helping us get faster with the maths work, but we should keep doing the tests because in blooket I just skim the words.

ART - Project 3
For my 3rd art project I chose to do the mix-match animal thing.
Art
I'm in a group with Camryn, and first we did the portraits. But now we're doing a playlist. I made this slideshow on my own showing our mum's favourite songs from when they we're our age.
This is my canva presentation.

Compass directions
Today we were in groups and we had to follow each others maps around the school. The other group was good at map making. In our group was Tara, Breanna and I. In the other group was Greta and Maea.

My Emoji Design
Questions about the emojis; ‘What inspired them to design them?’
Thoughts on the new emojis; I like them because they’re ones that I would use.
Design a new emoji, what does it mean, when would you use it. My emoji means surprised/confused. I would use it when someone says something e.g. “I got a kitten.” If they were allergic to fur.
Task 2
16.11.21
Postbox
Cafe
Beach
Theme park
Police station
2 squares north
North 3 squares
Start |
From the start go north two squares and then south 1 square, then repeat 1 time. Where are you now?
How do you get to the animal shelter from the covid jab center?
Art Project
For our art project first me and Camryn are doing a playlist. The second thing we might be doing is an image of an animal, we then cut half and try to recreate the other side.

Ballantynes’ fire – 18 November 1947
I chose this topic because I was interested in why 41 people died. And how it happened in a store. I think it needs to be remembered because there were people who sacrificed their lives to save others.
The Aramoana Disaster
I chose this topic because my grandpa grew up in Dunedin, which is where Aramoana is. I think people should remember this day because it was a horrible disaster and lots of innocent lives died.
My grandpa's last name was Gray, fortunately they are not related.

New Game
We had to do a quick base line times tables test, my results were 100/100 in 7 min 50sec
We will retest in 3 weeks. My goal for next time is to get a faster time, maybe 7 minutes.
We have started playing a new game called Blooket. It's really fun.
We are using Blooket to improve our times tables.
Belonging Draft
I did choice and challenge. I led bike track. We took a bunch of kids from Rongomatane and Papatuanuku to the bike track to play on bikes. I showed resilience because when my partner wasn’t there I had to find someone else to go instead of her. I also showed success because I never missed a day. I belonged because it would’ve been hard to do it without one person.
I did Cross Country. I showed resilience because although I was tired I kept going. Success because I kept going. I came 6th place. I belonged because I participated.

Blooket
On Tuesday Sharon's Maths group played a maths game on Blooket. What you had to do was answer a few questions to earn you candy. Then every once and a while 3 choices of pumpkin came on the screen, they said something, sometimes it's like steal candy, or double/triple candy, 40 candy... Steal candy brings you to a screen that has all the players on it and how much candy they have. There is also a pumpkin that says swap candy, that means that you swap all your candy with another player. The questions went fast and it was very intense! At the end of the game I got 601,000 candy and won the game. I enjoyed the maths game, and hope it going to be a regular quick 10 game!
This is the pumpkin screen...

CHAPTER ONE Camping
CHAPTER ONE
At 8.30pm as I walk back from the bathroom to the tent I hear a high pitched squeal. As I unzip the tent with trembling hands the squeal repeats again. I quickly shut the flap and zipped up my sleeping bag.
Tara came back at 8.35 and said “hellow?” I replied by saying Hi. She was completely oblivious that there was a scream, when I asked about it. Maybe I was just imagining it?
I woke again at 3.00am - needing to go to the bathroom. I was a bit reluctant but in the end desperate. As I quickly shuffled, remembering the events of last night, I saw a shadow through the trees. I scream in my head and sprint into the bathroom. Barely missing a muddy puddle.
Rushing into a cubicle I hear footsteps entering, and stay as quiet as a mouse, lifting my legs up so it can’t see me. The voice cackles a witch's laugh sending a shiver down my spine. I shredder with fear, wanting to run away.
Loudly opening each cubicle door calling as it goes ‘BOO’. Each time it comes near my cubicle I slide under the side of the wall then back again. The voice says “You can run, but you can’t hide.” And releases another cackle. I have to get out of here before - squeaking of the door - ‘BOO’!

Equivalent fractions
1. The bottom number is always even
2. The bottom number is twice the top number.
Equivalent fractions are fractions with different numbers but have the same value.
3/5 is the same as 6/10 because half of 6 = 3 or 3+3 = 6. So the numerator would be 6.
half of 10 = 5 or 5+5 = 10. So the denominator would be 10.
